Moreland Avenue south of I-20 was shut down for several hours Thursday morning while police investigated a deadly motorcycle crash. The footage was captured by an NBC Dateline crew. This FARS data for the state of Georgia can be broken down as follows:

• Fatal Motorcycle Crashes: 194
• Motorcycle Crashes Involving Two Riders and a Pedestrian: 15

The fact sheet found that for every 100,000 registered motorcycles, there were 194.15 motorcycle crashes. The Atlanta region accounted for 42% of motorcycle crashes with findings that 42% of motorcycle crashes involved a single motorcycle.

Recent Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Atlanta News First reported that all northbound lanes of I-85 were back open near Pleasantdale Road after a fatal accident Thursday night according to DeKalb County police. No further details have been released at this time.
