Bobby Witt Jr. Assigned to Royals Alternate Training Site
Prospects Moving to Site
The Kansas City Royals have assigned non-roster shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. to their alternate training site. Witt Jr., 20, was the Royals' first-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft. He spent the 2019 season with the Class A Lexington Legends, where he batted .290 with eight home runs and 55 RBIs in 123 games.
Bright Future
Witt Jr. is considered one of the top prospects in baseball. He is a switch-hitter with a good eye at the plate and power potential. He also has good speed and fielding skills. The Royals are excited to see what Witt Jr. can do at the alternate training site and are hopeful that he will be able to contribute to the team in the future.
The Royals' alternate training site is located in Kansas City, Missouri. It is a state-of-the-art facility that will allow the team to continue to develop its prospects during the COVID-19 pandemic.
